Update: Gilbert Burns tested positive for COVID-19 and will not compete against Kamaru Usman in UFC 251, according to the ESPN. The UFC has yet to make an official announcement, but the fight is likely to be postponed until a later date. The other two title bouts scheduled for UFC 251 (Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway and Jose Aldo vs. Petr Yan) are expected to take place on July 11th.
After UFC CEO Dana White postponed the events earlier this year due to the outbreak of the corona virus, she wasted no time trying to get things going again. White promised MMA fans that the UFC would be the first sports league to host live events again, and even hinted that a private Fight Island would serve as a venue for future shows. The time has finally come: On Saturday, July 11th, UFC 251 will host three explosive championship games on Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates. Here's everything you need to know about UFC 251: Usman vs. Burn, including start time, full map, and the ability to access the key UFC 251 live stream (spoiler: it's a pay-per-view event) will air exclusively on ESPN + in the U.S. – sign up now and save $ 30).

The entire UFC 251 combat card is a pay-per-view event. Due to ESPN's close relationship with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, you will need ESPN + if you want to stream UFC 251 live (this premium streaming platform is currently the only way to see UFC pay-per-views). UFC 251 combat card
- Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns (Welterweight)
- Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway (featherweight)
- Petr Yan vs. José Aldo (Bantamweight)
- Jéssica Andrade against Rose Namajunas (straw weight of women)
- Amanda Ribas vs Paige VanZant (women's flyweight)
Most UFC pay-per-views offer at least one championship match, and sometimes MMA fans are lucky with two title matches. The star-studded UFC 251 combat card offers not only two but three competitions for the men's welterweight, featherweight and bantamweight belts, as well as a highly anticipated rematch between the former women's strawweight champions, Jéssica Andrade and Rose Namajunas.
The main battle is to defend welterweight world champion Kamaru Usman against Gilbert Burns. With 16 wins and a single defeat, Usman is currently one of the brightest stars in the UFC, but the challenger for the throne is not a newcomer: Gilbert Burns can look back on an impressive record of 19 wins and only three losses is the best welterweight fighter who UFC men (even if Usman is currently holding the belt). Both fighters use fierce styles in the Octagon, with most of their recent victories being won by a decision. UFC 251 marks Usman's second defense of the title since winning the championship in March last year.
The Co-Main Event at UFC 251 is a rematch between the featherweight defender Alexander Volkanovski (21-1) and Max Holloway (21-5), two experienced fighters who need little introduction to MMA fans. Both are high-ranking UFC featherweights and faced each other at UFC 245 last December, where Volkanovski defeated Holloway unanimously to claim the title. Holloway, still the number 1 featherweight male, will understandably be hungry to get his belt back, but Volkanovski won't let his first UFC title defense disappoint so easily.
The third and final championship game on the UFC 251 combat card is a competition between Petr Yan (14-1) and José Aldo (28-6) for the vacant bantamweight title. A look at the records of these two fighters suggests that they are two stars who cross each other in different ways: Yan is an aspiring UFC talent who signed up for promotion in 2018 (and hasn't lost a match since then ), while Aldo has suffered a number of defeats recently after losing five of his last eight fights. This competition for the vacant bantamweight belt will be fierce and you can bet that a veteran like Aldo is determined to prove that he still has what it takes to be a champion.
UFC 251: Usman vs. Burns is a pay-per-view event that is broadcast exclusively through ESPN +. So if you haven't yet signed up for this premium sports streaming service, now is the perfect time: with this bundle offer you canfor only $ 85 right now (25% off).
